WAY back in the dark ages, I'm talking 1974-77 I was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Had a guy on our load crew called Conley Gould. He was from either New Hampshire or Maine, can't remember which. The country he talked about really sounded pretty.

Hard to believe its been 10 years. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I wrote this in another thread, but I'll tell my story here.

I was a freshman in college, and when I got to class, there was a bunch of people huddled around a TV. I thought we were watching a movie, which was strange because it was electronics 101 or something like that.

Then I saw a girl I knew well sobbing her eyes out & I joined the group huddled around the TV. Moments later, the second plane hit. That is one image I'll never forget. It turns out the girls parents were on the first flight. Seeing people jump out the windows was like watching a horror movie.

When the World Trade Center was bombed in the early 90s my father was there. He was lucky enough to make it out alive, climbing down 80 flights of smoke filled stairs.

After that, he continued to work at the WTC until sometime in 1999 or 2000 he had a STEMI (S T Segment Myocardial Infarction) - the most severe form of a heart attack. It was then he decided he could no longer handle the stress of working in the Big Apple, so we moved further North. Although it was horrible he had a STEMI, it was also a miracle, because he would've been on the 80th floor of the towers when they got hit.

That's my story.

Yeah. New Hampshire is really nice, especially in the Fall. I can't wait for the Fall!

ON September 11th 2001 I had gone with my Father to get their van worked on, some small recall or other. As we walked into the dealership everyone was huddled around a TV and they said that the World Trade centers had just had an Airplane fly into one of the buildings. As we were there the second plane hit. It was a bright sunny day in Southeast Missouri that day, but a dark day for the United States, and indeed for all the GOOD people of the World, no matter their Nationality, Race, Color or Faith.

I was 47 and had been retired from the Air Force for 7 years, but would have gone back in with NO hesitation to fight the Cowards that are still terrorizing the world to this day.

Your a good man Skunk. I lived so close, that I knew so many people affected by it. Parents & other family members lost, people who walked through the building minutes before the plane hit, Fire fighters, first responders, & EMTs who risked their lives to save others.

Perhaps the greatest shame is that as a nation we pulled together like had not been done since WWII but then almost as quickly as we came together we forgot what it was like to be of one mind, of a single purpose, dedicated to the elimination of a world wide plague called simply TERRORISM.

Stockholders interests don't always meet with the common peoples interests.

Hey Randy you were right again as usual! I made some investigations and the F karambit with aluminium scales has Böhler 690 blade! The model with G10 scales has 440c blade.

They are both good steels, but I like the N690. Holds a pretty good edge and seems to sharpen just a tad easier for me, at least with the heat treat Benchmade does to it.
