Have you guys heard of Berkey water purification , they had small water bottle types to household water coolers, they were set up at the show . Never heard of them myself but that don't mean much <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loopy.gif" alt="" />

Buy the Berkey filters, get yourself a couple food grade plastic buckets and
1. Cut a round hole in the bottom of one bucket for each filter you are going to use in it.
2. Cut a round hole in the LID of the second bucket for each filter, the holes in the bottom of one bucket and the lid of the other MUST line up.
3. cut a round hole about 3/4 to one inch up the SIDE of the bucket the lid is going to fit on.
4. install your faucet in the hole.
5. fit the stem of the filter down through the bottom of the one bucket and the lid of the second and screw the retaining nut on the stem.
6. Snap the lid on the second bucket then fill the top bucket with water!
7. Open you faucet in the second bucket for a fresh filtered glass of water.

They looked well built the home models were 100,00 and up .Maybe if they are at the next one i can check them out a little better.

I'll be honest I never went in to much for filtered water, tap has always been good enough for me. yeah Our bottled water comes out of a tap. The berkeys are (at least the ones I was looking at) for filtering polluted water to drink as in disasters.

THEY WERE selling the water bottle type saying you could fill it from any creek- mud puddle and it would give you clean filtered drinking water. I know they can say anything to get you to buy but it would be nice if it were true.

The Berkeys are a high output system that will filter several gallons of water per day just by gravity. As long as you keep putting polluted water in the top bucket filtered water will come out the faucet in the bottom bucket.

A lot of filters will "Filter" down to about 3 microns. SOME problem "BUGS" are a tad smaller than that. From what I have read a filter that will go down to 2 microns is the best, but they still (well at least a lot of them) recommend that after filtering the water you purify it with pills, liquid of some sort or UV light.
