While napping I was suddenly "awakened" when it felt like something was sitting on my chest and preventing me from moving. I thought wow this is what sleep paralysis feels like, and I felt no fear just interest. I couldn't move though so after a minute or so I decided to try an experiment. I gathered my energy and "fought" against what was holding me down
Funny as it sounds but it felt like something was fighting back. After some effort I was able to "banish" it.
I never said anything to anyone, about 2 weeks later I casually asked my daughter about the entity and she said it had not been around for awhile. I told her if it Comes back let me know.
About 3 months later she tells me it has come back and it told her it really didn't like me.
That night I did the same thing, and later that same night I had a virtual repeat of the sleep paralysis.
Same result, after a couple of weeks when I asked my daughter, she said the entity had only been there the one day. I told my family about my experiment and everything that had happened.
A few months later y daughter said it was back again and really angry. I told her to tell it that I kicked it's a## twice aready and I would do it again if it didn't leave.
She has not seen it since.
Now I cannot explain it, I never saw an entity, and as far as I am concerned I had a couple of events of sleep paralysis that I brought on myself by convincing myself to do the experiment.
I am putting it out there and you guys can decide for yourself. I found it to be a very interesting experiment I've had sleep paralysis many times in the last 7 or 8 years. There was a time where I had it every night for months and months. Sometimes I'd just be unable to move and in my minds eye thought that I was awake and in my room, other times I felt a demonic presence and saw a black silhouette pushing me down and squeezing my chest. Sleep paralysis can be explained scientifically, the mind awakens while the body does not, and the demonic presence could be just a projection of my subconscious mind; the internal struggle between good and evil that every man has. That being said, I don't doubt your experiences at all.

I don't believe in the supernatural and have struggled to explain what happened to me. I believe in the scientific explanation of sleep paralysis, but I have to admit the timing was weird unless you believe that i had just spooked myself Either way i believe it makes for an interesting story

Bill that story gave me goosebumps. As a Christian I believe you DID fight with a demon and did vanquish it. You say you are not spiritual and my faith tells me you are wrong, but I would fight and die for your right to believe this way. A person's belief or non belief is their own personal choice. Should we think any less or them, should we demean them, should we avoid them because of their belief or non-belief? I don't think so. And this covers EVERYONE, Christian believer or non believer, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or what ever religion you claim.
While we are on this earth what we need to concentrate on is being nice, peaceful to one another, recognizing our differences yet not letting them cause us problems. I have said before, probably 95 or more percent of us just want to live our lives in peace and happiness, willing to let everyone believe as they wish an not let that cause problems.
I have said it before in a joking manner, but this time I mean no joke and most of us know the line. "Can't we all just get along". Wouldn't it be nice if all the world got along as well as we do here.
LONG LIVE THE BROTHERHOOD OF THEY YARD! And may it never stop growing.

Randy While I agree with almost everything you said, I disagree with the 95%. There is still a lot of bigotry, intolerance, and radicalism in the world we live in. I hope that at some point in the future, there will be more people like you and me Randy, but when you look at all the problems we face in our world today, most stem from intolerance of other belief systems.

I've had sleep paralysis three times. Once when I was about 10 years old, once while I was in the Marine Corps, and once about a year ago. All three times it scared the crap out of me, but the most recent time I swear I felt a presence in the room with me. I never saw anything, but I swear someone else was there. It's hard to explain it to someone who has never experienced it.
@Flux - I think I agree with Randy. Those bigots and intolerant radicals draw an awful lot of negative attention, just one bad actor can hog alot of media coverage. The military refers to bad actors as the "ten percent" and they can make the whole military look bad. If Randy says 95% of us just want to get along (which I happen to agree with) then that leaves 5% of the population comprised of bad actors, which is alot in my book.

Yeah, it was scary in the beginning, and still can be. I have felt the presence too. It's always been an evil presence. When I was younger, a friend of mine's mom who claimed to have psychic powers told me that the devil tries to invade our souls and minds through our dreams. I don't know how much truth there is to that. Maybe my view on the world is skewed from my own life experience and from living in several large cities. Ive got more defending arguments, but dont want to get into a debate here. How's everyone doing today?

By the way, the 5-11 is one of those knives that I can't put down, sort of like my Dogfather was when I first got it.
It's a fantastic knife! I've always wanted a Ratmandu, but the colors I've wanted never seem to be in stock when I go to order. With a little bit of a Choil mod, I think the 5-11 will suit my needs so well that I won't need an RMD. I ordered another Rainwalker sheath for it, and after the cost of the sheath and the knife, I am still under what an RMD costs.
My Rainwalker DF and NMSFNO sheaths are out for delivery today which I'm super excited about. The part that stinks is that I stayed much later at the software training I gave today than I thought I would. If I missed the mailman, I'll have to wait until the weekend to pick them up from the PO .

Ryan I posted in your other thread but I will say it here as well. The RMD is an entirely different creature, maybe the most comfortable grips ever and the blade profile is different than the 511. If you get the chance to handle one you will see what I mean.
