STAINLESS! Didn't know they were making them in that. Boy I AM behind the times! Makes them heavy for sure, I think they were going for the rust resistance thing but we all know it's rust resistance not rust proof.

Did it have the mag release on the butt or up on the rear of the trigger guard?

Never liked the european mag release, that stopped me from getting the sig 230 years ago, I went with the ppk/s instead. I'm suprised sig hasn't offered their 230 series with the american mag button.

All this talk made me think. I read an article in one of my knife magazines about a guy that is making a outdoor/survival knife. No big deal right, WRONG! He removes the entire grip area from a Caspian 45 frame, mills in a small second finger guard (can't remember what it's called!) and mills off the grip safety area and makes a magazine "Survival" kit that will still hold 1 round of 45acp.

You see alot of the german made sigs up for sale and most are the mag release button but people seem to think the quality is better.

Mine had the alloy frame. Much lighter than my steel frame P229 that I had.
