Good morning yard, the postman woke me up with a delivery this morning of my new 511 Camo.

Randy, I'm glad no one was hurt in the fire I can't even imagine having to cope with the loss after a fire, just the thought of it is horrible.

I know that the loss of life would be even worse, but to loose EVERYTHING, no matter what the cause makes me feel sorry for all the folks. Then the news Vultures call. I hate those guys! Not as individuals (although there has been two or three that LIED about what I told them and of course NEVER corrected it) but as a whole. Good thing this is a family forum or I might forget my religion for a few minutes and tell you how I REALLY feel!

Once many years ago when I was still an active Cop we had a fire where two older teenagers died. One was near the front door and one was apparently lost in the smoke. When we got there the fire was pretty much over, Their skeletons were all that was found, and the News crews tried to film it! We put up sheets to shield the remains while trying to identify which boy was which and the A^^%oles ran their camera up a mast to shoot down over the sheets!

Yes, material objects can be replaced, but you can never replace the memory that a certain item, an item that was lost brings to you. Very tragic and the impact can last for years, especially if the residents are home at the time of the fire.

Did I loose my post?

I know we could never replace so many of our belongings even with the insurance, I don't know if people realize that the insurance covers only so much and that you need to look into riders for your policy to cover more than the bare minimums.

I need to update my insurance, I got an appraisal the other day and my place has held up pretty good against the market. But replacing it if there was a fire will cost that much more.

I hear you we need to add extra to ours as well woth all the improvements since pur last apprasial. I need to add riders for my firearms,knives and our kicthen appliances and furniture.

We have a blanket policy for contents. But I'm not sure how good that really is.

My stepson just closed on his house yesterday. The contents are covered to 10K. Might sound like a lot, but he just paid 4K for his couch and love seat, coffee and two end tables and his bedroom furniture, that included the bed, head and foot boards and a dresser.

AND we're not counting the stove an fridge, kitchen table, another bedroom set he is going to get washer and dryer and all the other stuff you need for a house.

My homeowners covers $17k before any riders. I added them for my camera gear and my firearms. Probably need to revise it for my knife collection as well.
