PS: Nice poll, Arthitect. Next time, however, I'd suggest you use single choice answers (radio buttons) rather than multiple choice answers (checkboxes) to questions whose answers are mutually exclusive. Just a thought. This was my first poll, and I struggled with getting it set up the way I wanted it. Your suggestion would have been better .

Like most folks, who are not knife lovers, I carry a pocket knife every day. I may go for weeks without ever using a fixed blade knife, except in the kitchen.

My edc is a ESEE Izula in the waistband or a Benchmade 943 folder clipped to pocket. I think a good edc must be unobtrusive and comfortable to carry. It's no good if it ain't on you and a folder is most convenient. But as they say, "folder's a toy, fixed blade's a tool."

Don't get me wrong, I use my folding knives more than my fixed blades, because they are convenient to carry. But when the SHTF I want a fixed blade. So for me the ideal EDC is unobtrusive fixed blade with a 3-3.5" edge, a cord wrapped handle, and a slender sheath.

I have to agree with HornDog. Although I carry both a fixed blade and folder, the folder gets used much more often.

EDC folder is much more convenient for me in public. Fixed for hiking, camping, yard work, but also often with a folder of some sort.

I EDC a Busse/Busse kin fixed blade every day. At least 2 at a time Any mechanical lock can fail, that's why I EDC a fixed blade.

I use my Delica or Mini-Griptilian several times a day, and even though they are "common" blades and not fancy at all I'll always give them props. They have yet to let me down. Now lets get that Scrap Warden made...post haste

I always have a fixed blade and a folder. Usually Swamp Warden or Game Warden. I still need to get a sheath for my mud puppy and that will go in the lineup. I always have an XM-18. I also always have my SAK and a leatherman. I wear Carhartt overalls everyday so I have plenty of pockets.
