Man I would have loved to catch that beast!

Between 5 of us we put 30 in the boat. Average weight was about 15 lbs which comes to 450 pounds. After filleting we ended up with about 225 lbs of meat or 45 lbs each.
One pound fits into a wide mouth pint canning jar. We had 4 pressure cookers going all day and half the night.

I love tuna out of the can, with Keebler Club crackers and beer! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

If you like it out of the can you would love it from the jar. No comparison to store bought.

No comaparison at all for sure. Brett ( son) plugged the commercial boat the other day out of Coos bay <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. I was gone so he cleaned and canned over 60 jars for us- plus put some in the freezer for the barbeque. Ron supplied me with some of the greatest charcoal I have ever used and the tuna done that way is UNREAL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />!!! Also- the chantrelles are all over our woods so a heap of those next to the tuna really sets it off. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Plus of course a couple nice crabs. Nice job Ron- sorry I missed you on the way through !! Maybe next time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />Thanks

I am not much of a fish eater. I don't really care for tuna in a can, so how does it differ from a jar? Is it ready to eat out of the jar or does it need to be cooked?
