Sorry for your loss. There seems to be way too much of it going around here lately.

My prayers sent to you and yours.

"Breanna Joy Hayes, 24, of Waterbury, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved daughter of Patrick J. Hayes Jr. of Waterbury and Maureen (Flynn) Smith of Southington." from the newspaper.

Bree (left) and my fiance, Jessica. They were best friends. Jessica was part of the funeral detail where Bree received full military honors today. Jessica folded the flag covering the casket and passed it to Bree's parents.

It has been tough on me, but I can only imagine how tough it has been for Jessica. They were like sisters.

Don't mean to bring anybody down, just want to pay tribute to her in front of my friends.

I know it will be asked, so I say it now. She did not die in combat. Please don't ask for further details on that subject.

So young and to have made such a mark as a good person and one that has served. I am touched and honored that you shared this. I will keep her and her family in my prayers

Be strong for your fiance

Dan

I don't know If I could have done it if it was my best friend or not. Our Friend from church (he was 79) died May23 and I was a pall bearer for him. When they started folding the flag and the Rifle salute (he was a Marine as well), I did have tears did run down my face, and he was just a good friend from church.

Tell Jessica in all probability that will be one of if not the hardest things she will ever do and I Highly commend her for her courage, thoughtfulness and desire to honor her friend.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, may she rest in peace. Your Fiance is a strong person, I don't think I could have held it together. It's such a shame, it seems only the good really do die young.
