First and foremost Woodlander, Welcome to the yard! Glad you decided to join us!
I would highly recommend and Mud Puppy to you, I have one myself and it's a great all around carry/kitchen knife. I use mine for all the chopping and food prep that I do, despite the dozens of kitchen knives I have laying around. If you want one, the easiest way to find one would either be BladeForums.com or on Ebay. The limited runs of Dan's knives make them go up in value on the secondary market, however, so expect to pay more than MSRP for one. Believe me though, it's worth it, even if you don't pound it through Barstock! If you're looking for something a tad larger, I believe the Regulator and Deregulators are still fairly inexpensive. I haven't looked recently, but they have sold for less than the original selling price before. One heckuva survival knife, mine rides in the back of the Jeep, JIC!
I can't seem to track it down, but isn't there a vid of someone dismantling a Ford with a SYCKO knife?

I like the exposed tang at the pommel of the modified MP. Just today I gathered some fatlighter using a knife that had full tang with extended pommel. I was able to drive the blade into the fatlighter stump using my walking stick. I would like to see SYKCO make a survival knife with an extended tang, like Fallkniven does. It adds to the utility of the knife, IMO. A heavy duty SYKCO knife in SR77 would be way tougher than the 1095 one I used today.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

You never know when you'll need to pound your pommel.

Hello! First and foremost Woodlander, Welcome to the yard! Glad you decided to join us! Thank you very much to you and to all other members who welcomed me as well! If you want one, the easiest way to find one would either be BladeForums.com or on Ebay.
Thanks for the tip! Depending on what I have left in the bank account after holidays, I'll probably look for one! Believe me though, it's worth it, even if you don't pound it through Barstock!
Well, I must admit that if I ever get one, the first thing I'm gonna do is trying what myketheknife did! I am so blown away and want to see it with my own eyes and show it to my buddy knifemaker! I'm sure he's going to pass out! I can't seem to track it down, but isn't there a vid of someone dismantling a Ford with a SYCKO knife?
Really?! I will google some to find this! Thanks once more to all of you for the welcome words!

Woodlander, sorry I am a little slow, but WELCOME to the ScrapYard! These Knives the we love so much are hype, yes. BUT THEY DO WHAT WE SAY! These knives are made out of DAN modified ball bearing and jackhammer bit steel, so you KNOW it's got to be tough stuff! And his heat treat on 154 is just AMAZING! Get your hands on any BusseKin steel (but WE recommend Dan's) and you will have a friend you can depend on for the rest of your life. And that IS NOT hype, just fact.

Randy doesn't lie, Woodlander, there is no other choice of knife for me when the SHTF. Also, I neglected to mention www.knifetests.comThere are quite a few Busse and SYKCO knives put to the test on this webpage, and the results are... impressive.

Hello! Woodlander, sorry I am a little slow, but WELCOME to the ScrapYard! Thank you very much Randy! I don't have a doubt of this, all the pictures and videos I've seen speak by themselves! These knives are made out of DAN modified ball bearing and jackhammer bit steel What does that mean actually? Scrap Yard Knives melts its own steels and make modified versions of 52100 and S7? And his heat treat on 154 is just AMAZING! I would even call it revolutionary given the performance the Mud Puppy did at the beginning of this thread. What I don't understand however, is why other heat treaters and metallurgists don't try to duplicate this level of performance by getting most from the available steels. This kind of performance is never seen elsewhere (I haven't myself) and as a hopefully future knifemaker it is kind of frustrating that I won't be able to get most of the steels I will use.
