cleaning the grease trap... ugh... not fun... stinks up the building I agree. I was present when a restaurant was having their grease trap pumped, it smelled worse than raw sewage.

We use them on our spotlights when we call varmints. They are kinda like a reflector. But really it just keeps the spill of the light from killing your night vision.
I also have them in the garage with stuff that likely should just be thrown away. Filled with a little concrete...or better yet the smaller sizes, make great anchors. The plastic keeps them from banging up your boat/kayak. Just put a loop of rope/wire/whatever in them before you pour in the concrete.
Say, I think I might need to go drink some more coffee.

I use the old steel coffee cans. I put grease in them from draining ground beef and such. When they get full, I put them in the garbage. Grease is best disposed of as solid waste, although it can be recycled. Grease does a number on your drains, septic tank or sewer lines. That's why restaurants are required to have grease traps to keep it out of sewer systems. We tend to put our grease in the air. It make a campfire burn just that much brighter.

Perforate the can add some lengths heavy of steel wire and make a charcoal chimney/camp-stove thing.

I use them for a scoop and to measure grain/feed. I also use them for emergency kits in cars. They are bright red (Folgers) so they are easy to find. Yup, I use them to scoop bird seed out of the big rubbermaid for my feeders, and to hold dog food for camping trips. Bill

They work good for a TP stove or heater. Put a roll of TP in there with kerosine or diesel fuel. They burn a long time and make a nice little heater.

I saw a video on county comm where they did that with the disposable towels they sell in the tube valts. They soaked them in alcohol and they actually burned for quite some time.

I buy cheap bulk gauze pads, put them in a suitable container then put in rubbing alcohol. They work great for cleaning hands, equipment or starting fires
