Knob Creek may be a good time to try for a ScrapMuk. I understand lots of older knives turn up there.

They sometimes do, but surprisingly, no Muks made it to either of the 2010 shows. A few MPLEs came in the spring and even fewer BDLEs in the Fall, and I recall that there were a couple Scrapper 5s in INFI at both, but no Muks.

Nope; we were both looking for them for proxies, but they didn't have any. I suspect that you're remembering that custom Vex -- I got the only Vex they had (it has a thumb notch on the spine) along with several MPLEs (I think it was five). While I'd initial intended to keep them all, I ended up offering MPLEs to the folks who'd asked for Muks; a few took me up on the offer, and I kept the last couple for myself.

The previous show (Fall 2009), they brought several Muks and I proxied an SE for Vic. After I saw how popular they were, I wished I'd bought all they had, but I was heavily focused on the Swamp Rat re-release of HRLMs and RMDs (I bought the only ones I've ever seen in Bama Clay -- four of each, plus I placed a good-sized order with Eric). That was also the show where Garth delivered an Arctic White Groove Master that I'd asked for and I lucked into that Desert Sand Pork Bellied Skinner; everyone assumed it had been claimed by someone because it was set aside, but nobody knew by who until I asked Garth about it. He had set it aside because the price tag was missing and he needed to make a new one -- I claimed it immediately, and haven't seen another one on the tables since. That show was an exceptional haul for me.

I really can't blame anyone for wanting a Scrap Muk. It is a unique knife that can do many things very well.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I really regret not picking up one when they were available. I had just joined the Yard when they were up for ordering, and I didn't realize how things worked. I'll grab one on the exchange someday, and a MPLE too. I REALLY want a MP, even more than the Muk.
