Some of my favorite memories are from being out shooting with my dad

My too man. I shot with my grandfather and my dad when I was young. My grandfather is gone now, but I still shoot with my dad once a week.

A m44 is NOT a pea shooter. At twilight it makes a fireball the size of a basketball!

Ok, I've been looking at some 1911s. Do the Rock Island, Armscor or Taurus 1911s come with forged slides and frames?

I know Rock Islands do, my friends RockI lunker weighs close to 6 oz more than my taurus does, but the frame is where the extra mass comes from, it's about twice as thick at the dust cover then on my PT1911. I'm not to sure about the Armscor, but a quick google to Taurus verified that thier 1911s do have forged slides and frames.

The Taurus 1911 seems to be where it is at for the money.
