I've been thinking about the kit that JRE sells.

JRE sheaths are nice. I like the way they keep the bootom of the sheath squared off. I tried that on a project once, but I jacked it up. Nothing a trip to Tandy didn't fix.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I ment the STROP setup kit they have for sale.

Some good looking steel there. What optic is on the AR, is it a 1-4x Nikon?

That's a Leupold Varix III 1.5-5. It's a great scope for 100-400yds. I might send it back to Leupold for a mil dot reticle. I picked up a Larue quick release mount that I hope to be able to use to swap out a scope and a red dot.

Been thinking of something along the lines like that for my GT AR or GT PARA FAL. I have a Aimpoint on it now, can switch between the Para and the AR and still be dead on nuts between the two rifles, but I hate swapping back and forth. Thanks on the info. BTW, is it illuminated?

That's an appropriate optic for your AR. I would recommend a set of BUIS though.

Jeff, I have a Trijicon TR21R in a LaRue LT139 on one of my AR's, and a Trijicon TR24G in a LaRue LT104 on another. Both rifles have fixed front sights, and Troy rear BUIS.

The TR24G is an AWESOME 1-4x optic that does not require batteries, and uses BAC (fiberoptic) ambient light to "increase" the reticule's brightness.

The TR21R is "OKAY" at 1.25-4x, but the red reticule is more difficult for me to see (same technology otherwise).

I'd wholeheartedly give my recommendation for the TR24G in a LaRue LT104 quick detach mount. Its the best of all worlds...1x for CQB, no batteries, and up to 4x for distance.

That's a good looking DPMS, I've handled a few here and there, shot one or two. Thier .308s are tack drivers, saw a ragged one hole group out of one at 200 yards, 3 shots. Had the heavy Bull barrel, so i wouldn't expect the same from a lighter contour barrel, but it was impressive nonetheless.

CTR stock with MOE handgaurd and pistol grip? I hear good things about the MOE handgaurds.

Yup it's MOE stuff. I like the grip, I am not a fan of finger groves on my AR grips.
