Sorry, just day dreaming Stupid idea? Making a tradional style blade from SYKCO? I realize that a DF or an SOD would be similar in capabilities. I have just always like the Hudson Bay Camp knife from the history and such.

Thoughts?

Again, just daydreaming.

Not a bad dream. Look at the MUK, it was a traditional style that Dan put a great twist one. Also, Busse made us a Bowie blade and it looks pretty traditional too.

The blade would need to be SR77 with a good handle-----I would be in for one.

Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

Why not? That Scrap Muk kicked butt. That's a heck of a Nessmuk knife.
I like the HB style knife, too. Dan could make an awesome Hudson Bay camp knife.

Vic - I really like that knife on top, and I already have a Bark River Hudson Bay knife!

It's from Condor, believe it or not. While the BRKT is much closer to the original in profile, the Condor is a great camp/kitchen cleaver. I stripped it and gave it a grapefruit patina. Naturally, I convexed the edge. If Dan should decide to make a Scrap Yard version, I would buy it in a heartbeat. His version of the Nessmuk, in modern steel and materials, is a great woods knife. He should make some more of them! Those old designs still work well for the modern outdoorsman.

Make it, and we'll buy it.

What would you call it?

Scrap Camp?

Growlson Bay?
