I don't need it, but still like a bayonet lug on my rifle. Better to have options. I vote red/IR

Yeah, My AR has the lug, AND I have the Bayonet to go on it!

I am leaning the MecArmy way.

I got an old school bushmaster with the lug.

I got 2 pre-ban AK's with lugs also. I just couldn't see a real world situation where you would actually use the bayonet, but I'm sure for SHTF you never know.

I have the sidewinder compact. It might be the II. Mine ponly runs on a 123 battery, though. I think the II runs on several different ones.

It's not the II MB. I have the same light. And yes the II does run on either battery.

I was considering it for my chest rig since it's so versatile.

Finally received that Nitecore TIP flashlight for the wife. She and I a great first impression of the product. It's amazing that such a small flashlight can put out 360 lumens. She likes that it can be recharged using a USB cable.

It also has a nice feel to it. Lightweight yet sturdy. Time will tell if it can take a beating or not.

I like my Maratac TTL Strobe.

OK, got my Maratac TTL strobe light in today. It's 1730 and VERY overcast so it's kinda dark, at least in the bedroom. Put a C cell in it and turned it on. Man you don't want to look into this thing on Hi. Lit up our bedroom really nice and even on lo it was plenty of light to see to get around in. The strobe as well is really a beacon. It would be easy to see at night from a long ways away. SO FAR, without testing it out in complete darkness and not having the advantage of a long term test, I'd say it's a winner. up up

Just tried it out in complete darkness. Lights up really nice. PLUS if you invert the light so the "Globe" is pointing downward it makes for a pretty passable LIMITED distance flashlight. It will light up an area in front of you so you could walk easily in a dark moonless and starless night and not have any fears of tripping over something. I've finally found myself a light that gives me the run times I have been wanting. Oh and you don't want to look directly at the light on Hi.

1. HI for 75 hours, 300 lumens
2. Lo for 375 hours, 40 lumens
3. STROBE for 150 hours, 300 lumens.

VERY break resistant opaque globe covering the led and the light has Military grade type III hard anodizing.

I got mine from County Comm but you might be able to get it from other vendors as well. It is the MARATAC TLL Strobe.

Specs

Maratac
LED Type: Cree XP-5 R5/G2 with a lifespan to 50,000 hours
Aluminum alloy reflector
Aircraft grade aluminum covered with Type III Military grade anodization
Sealed polypropylene sphere lens
Standard threaded tripod mount on bottom
3 Second Memory
Length: 3.45 in (87.63 mm)
Diameter: 1.25 in (31.75 mm)
Weight: 60g (w/o battery)

Included

Extra O-ring
