Hi folks! I think we need a thread for cataloging any unique number of applications for using the new Scrapivore Beveled Pommels (SBP). It can be a mechanism for overcoming a challenging obstacle, or opening a beer. It could be helpful to post pictures, if you can...or at least describe the process to the best of your ability. The goal is to share as much information as possible, and make our fellow Dogs aware of the potential uses for such a tool. Call it the SBP BKMs (Best Known Methods)!

I'll start us off. I didn't take pictures, because I hadn't thought to and now it's too late. However, this evening I got my registration sticker for my landcruiser in the mail. So...instead of reaching for the razor blade...I grabbed the SVLE and headed outside. I had intended to use the blade, but quickly realized I had a more useful scraper in the SBP! Although not "sharp"...the edge worked well against the glass to remove the existing sticker. I kept the beveled side down and lightly pressed against the sticker, forcing it up and off.

So...share your apps!

I didn't get the LE, but when I get the CG I'll grind a notch in the edge to pull nails and such with.

I got my left handed SVLE two days ago and instantly used it as my official beer-opener while watching
Arsenal Vs Barcelona (Champions League, Soccer) on TV. It worked perfect but I donīt really see any point in having both left and right -hand versions of the knife available, since it works perfectly regardless of hand used.

NoiseyCricket, ONE reason is because of what Rainwalker said. as a small nail or tack puller. IF you put the angle side down it will lift the nail or tack out easier as the bevel will to an extent act as a pivot point of sorts where as if you put the bevel up it would be a lot harder to do because the angle you would have to use to get under the nail head would be a lot steeper. And as some folks are right handed and some left, I think the Dan is just trying to cater to all of us.

This is just my two cents and no animals were harmed in the thought process involved to bring you this post!

I get your point SkunkHunter Angle side down is certainly the way to go, but I think its possible to adjust the grip of your hand and use the prybar with angle side down quite effective regardless of hand used. But perhaps its just me... I throw a baseball with my left and write with my right hand. Anyway, its a great knife, a new favorite, I like it even more than the Izula and the Swamp warden. Now its time to use it again and open up a couple of "friday, after work beers", cheers everyone!
