I couldn't spend $300 on a folder. I'd rather have a 4" x .1875" thick fixed blade with a thinly Res-C covered handle. Stretch the Scrapivore a little and put a Res-C handle on it...and I'd be "in like Flynn" (or "in like Flint" if you prefer the later version).

I'd consider a folder for the $125 range, but I doubt a Yard quality folder could be produced for that little.

I agree with rth...

Bussekin are the kings of fixed blades - why take them out of their area of expertise?

Besides, I view folders as a "throw-away" tools anyway.

Arch, the one blade you mention above is the Yard Keeper.
A folder would be great, just something else for me to get, I do love fixed blades more though.

I would only buy a folder from the yard if I could use it, as money for me is rather tight. Something huge wouldn't suit me, but maybe a 4" blade at the most. A Res-C spine treatment would be sweet, and wouldn't catch too badly on the pocket when drawing the knife.

Actually, I was just kidding. There are PLENTY of fine folders available in all shapes and sizes. Busses make fixed blades. I can't understand why, with the finest folders ever made available now, folks would expect the Busse companies to enter that market. Let SYKCO, Swamp Rat, and Busse Combat do what they do best, and seek folders elsewhere. But that is just my opinion.

lol, I thought you were serious! My how emotions get lost in translation over the internet. Makes sense, but I think having a folder made of SR-77 or SR-101, having that sort of built in durability, would make it a tremendously useful tool. And you know it would be built solid as a rock, because that's Dan's thing . I find that people view folding knives as less threatening than a fixed blade. Even though I carry a fixed utility blade at work, people still give me crooked looks like I'm going to go postal and cut up my coworkers. Funny thing is, I'll probably be the guy who takes care of the active shooter should something like that occur. Sadly, the sheep mentality is still in control. Apparently, anyone with a knife or a legally concealed firearm is automatically a criminal.

Yeah, I've gotten "talked to" at work for carrying a Kershaw Blur. Seems people feel "threatened" when they see a knife clip in the pocket.

I've caught flak for my SAK before too, despite the fact that I use it virtually every day (multiple times) and folks at work often ask to borrow it. Go figure. One man's tool is another man's scary weapon.

Suppose it could also be that people felt threatened because I couldn't stop flicking it open all the time

I agree, I had to stop carrying mine because I drove my boss crazy with the clicking. Mine wasn't a kershaw, but the blade was quite heavy for a cheapy, and it made a LOUD click. Kinda like clicking a pen over and over, or slamming a door...
