Well, all I can say is my "New & Improved" HEST folder has become one of my favorite EDC knives, bottle opener and all. It is light and carries well, like the ZT0350, and unlike the ZT0301, which is a brick. Having a glass breaker, wire stripper, bottle opener (which can have other uses), and a 3/16" thick blade makes me feel like I have a survival knife in my pocket. I will admit that my much less expensive Victorinox OHT is probably a better one.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Speaking of food, I went to a store in another town about 15 miles away today for some of their fried chicken. Best fried chicken we have ever had around here.

Anyway they had cooked boston butts (about 8 pounds) for $18.00. Thought that was pretty good, and TASTY!

I need to go get some and smoke em up. My wife can make an awesome BBQ sauce so we do that a couple times a year. It's almost spring too.....

Vic, I am sometimes "Minds eye" challenged, what other uses would the bottle opener have?

Ok, In the spirit of HATING politically correct, Insert this (sometimes I'm stupid) between the above quotes.

The cutout can be used much like the Wave feature on Emersons, from what I've been told.

You can open your beer with it too... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I watched a couple videos where they used the bottle opener to open the blade as it was coming out of the pocket.

I just think if you need it that fast, carry a fixed blade. I like it, but it's still just a gimmick. (In my opinion)

The reason I have carried my Rat Trap for all these years is that it is light and carries well. Before that, I carried a Cold Steel Voyager. Whatever knife you have on you when a "survival" situation occurs is a survival knife, IMO. So a knife like the HEST that carries light seems realistic to me. Your personal "Doomsday" is the only one you might be able to do anything about anyway. Not going to stop a comet or a flood with a pocket knife.
