For outdoor use, I like knives with handles. The Skeleton handled ones are fine for desk knives or light duty, but for harder use, I need a handle. For me, the handle on a knife is almost as important as the blade. Knives like the Mud Puppy can be used for hours without hand fatique. And this new Rodent Solution is right in there with that fine knife in comfort. It's about the same size as the HCLE and the MPLE. For me, it's like a Swamp Rat version of the ESEE-3, but with a better contoured handle, upgraded steel, and thicker stock. Lucky for me, I already had a leather pouch sheath that fits the new Solution just fine. Hats off to the swamp, for making yet another little knife that big guys can use.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Horn dog, I agree, I just got my solution and I agree it is comfortable. My only issue is a slight hot spot on the pommel cut out for the lanyard. One of those points digs into the palm of my hand. But a little sanding should make it ok.
On the picture of the three spine shot one is the solution, one is the Esee, what is the third?
Thanks and great score! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Vic, remember me saying you would like it, I do. Glad that you got one. SAR, get some paper and make that knife feel better for you.

The RS is becoming my favorite Swamp Rat knife. I carry one everyday. The handle is about as comfortable as any knife I've owned.

That's a pretty good testimonial Gary, as I know that you use your knives too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I haven't had a chance to use the RS as much as I want, but hopefully this spring will offer ample opportunities to beat on it.
Have one sitting on my desk here at work (next to my keyboard) as I type.

I love mine. Just waiting to get a sheath for it. The Swamp has some nice sheaths in their store. May try one of those soon.
