I will start this off; 29 years ago I asked my wife to marry me on April 1st during a blowing snow storm. It only seemed appropriate that I should get engaged on April Fools Day…what better!!! Patti even asked me if it was a prank. I said no but she would not know for sure until the actual day. She then said, I don’t know when…but I will get you back. Yea Yea Yea I heard that before!
Fast forward from this moment some 9 years later and we were told that we only had one more shot to get pregnant on the fertility drugs or we would have to give up for at least five years. I was in Detroit (out of town) when I called home to see how everything went at the doctors. Patti told me she was not pregnant and I said “Well that is just the way it is supposed to be”………………..She returned with the famous quote “ I told you I would get you back, APRIL FOOLS”. I had no idea what she was talking about and explained that to her. She said you are going to a Daddy. I had no idea it was April First. This was the best April Fools Joke ever and I gave up trying to ever get her back…….Clearly she won.
