Jim, as one that got a blade from you some time ago (still don't know who did it) I personally want to thank you for all the knives you buy, both as a proxy and for selling some you got either for yourself or to sell. It takes a special, trusting kind of person to spend the money you do for people and HOPE that they pay you for your kindness.

And while I am on the subject I also want to thank the person who wishes to remain unnamed that gave a brand new S5 to a Soldier you have never met and don't know that was on his way Afghanistan. You are the patriot, as much as any soldier, sailor, Airman or Marine that has ever served.

I don't know who you're referring to, but I've heard that ksjumpmd has done that many times. There are many generous dogs in the yard.

As for myself, the last couple shows I've just proxied by selecting knives and giving them to the Busse Crew along with the person's contact info. The Busse Crew writes up an invoice and handles the billing and shipping. It costs folks a bit more than if I estimate exact shipping, but they can pay by credit card rather than money order and its much less effort and worry for me. Once I hand the knives off, I'm done -- I send PMs about what, if anything, I was able to score, but that's no big deal.

Still Jim, it is not easy trying to make decisions for someone else at times. Even knowing exactly what they want, then the stress if trying to find it isn't easy. You have never proxied for me but I appreciate all you do for the Dogs. You and another shining example of what makes this the Best Place on the internet.

As side topic, I wonder if Knob Creek got hit by the thunder storms that rolled through Louisville around 11:00 AM today. I live in Southern Indiana, and it looked to me as if the storm front was passing north of Knob Creek, but I'm not sure how far south it extended and there were many trees down (and some power outages) in Louisville.

I'm hoping to hear from someone who was out there today. The storms didn't last very long but the TV news reported high ground lightning strike counts, some hail, and high winds (though no tornadoes, so at least that was good).

Great to see the SS4 might be making a comeback. That's one of my favorite knives. Great scores.

I met Amy, Lexi, of course Garth, Drew and the rest of the crew again. I got some very cool stuff and will post pics soon -- possibly not tomorrow as I hear it's going to rain and I prefer to take pics in natural light.

The sort-of good news that there were SS4s, but I only saw two and was only able to get one, so apologies to those who hoped I could get one for them, but that one's mine. It's unusual compared to the originals in that the blade is tanker rather than black, and it's not marked as being INFI, although Garth assured me that it is.

The very good news was that there were many Mud Puppy CGs -- they're coated even though the blades are 154CM (I'm not sure why). They were priced at a mere $59.95 each. I went a bit over board on them, but I was there, they were there, and 11 of them followed me home.

There were Scrapper 5 CGs, Dumpster Mutt CGs, Cupidvores, a few SoDs and Dog Fathers, and even a couple Yard Hooks. I think all of the hooks sold, and perhaps the Dog Fathers, although I wasn't paying a lot of attention by the time I left.

My Busse Combat acquisitions were two Jack Hammers (both sage with black paper Micarta handles), two SFNOs (one muddy, one 'bama clay, both with hand-shaped tiger hide LE handles), and one SarSquatch ('bama clay with tan canvas Micarta).

Jeff and his wife were there. There were lots of familiar folks there, and the cheesecake and pizza was good. It was especially great to meet Amy, who I have spoken with on the phone many times.

The story so to speak about the SS4's. I found four SS4's in a box under my desk. I got tired of kicking that box every time I sat down. I decided to see what was in that box....I had forgotten that I put them there a while back...actually before the first offering. They were part of my original design batch. So I had a logo put on them real quick and handed them to Garth as he went out the door for the show. They are made of INFI and I had coated them gray to distinguish them from the main offering.

I am glad to see you got one, enjoy

Dan

So are those the only four SS4s in INFI?

Steeley, I THINK all the SS4's are INFI. Hang on and I'll be right back.
