Nice job Myke! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

The DF and B11 are some of my fist in line for chopping, although I enjoy using my Condor Golok a lot as well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Man I gotta get out in the woods! Looks like a great time Myke, thanks for sharing. You have me a little suprised by your results. I'm hoping to get out Memorial weekend and maybe try the B11 vs NMSFNO vs Ratweiler. They are the only possible choppers I have except for maybe the Wakisashi.

Nice pics! I wonder what happened with the Busse with the first round?

Which did you like chopping with the most?
The newer one. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
But really,every one's different,holds a knife different,swings different,
uses more or less force, did or didn't have wheaties for breakfast.
There are too many varaibles to take one mans results to heart.
I'm sure anyone would have different results than I did with these same knives.
If I had to choose just one,it would be the DF because it is a brute
that will take anything I could/would throw at it
& ask for more.

(SUCKUP)! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Seriously though, The DF does have that rep and it was the largest (well sort of) the three knives. For sure weighed the most therefore one would think it would hit the hardest.

I like your review Myke. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Nice review, the df is great but the results of the b 11 surprised me a bit. Why do you think it did the way it did? I don have a b11 yet so I don't know the profile.

Once gain nice post and pics. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Thanks Sar.
I think the coating on the fullflat grind of the B11 slowed it down.It would stick in the bottom of the cut a lot.
The uncoated Takach never got stuck & it is 1/16" thinner.
I'm going to strip the B11 & see if it makes a difference,if not I'll convex it & see.
I'm still not convinced a convex edge is going to make much of a difference in choping ability.
We'll see.........

Hey, he's a Furner. You can't let him have it, he would probably sell it to their Military and they would duplicate it by the thousands and then use it as a weapon to invade us! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> And then all would be lost.

Looks like a great area to get away to. Since both the B11 and the DF are coated do you think stripping the B11 will help? It looks like you had a good time and the pictures are really appreciated.
