Picked up this Sterile Old School Ratwelier, in pristine condition. I think I allready know the answer to this question, but should I leave it a safe queen investment, or beat it like the Rat that it is. What is the nature of Sterile knives, military overuns?

If you have a user of similar size and shape, save it. if not, use it!
How 'bout that 1311, eh?

That thing is old unmarked and probably not worth much. In fact just so it doesn't deminish the value of your other blades you can send it to me and I will properly dispose of it for you.

I voted use it. I don't know if you have had a Ratweiler before or not but it is a great knife in use. The handle is great for chopping and the blade size and weight aren`t so much that it can`t be used for smaller tasks. I think you will really enjoy using it!!!! Regardless of your decision, congRATs!! It's a great score!!!!

Beat it like a red headed step child. That sucker is a work horse. Almost chops as well as my battle rat.

I voted to use it. Alternatively, sell the sterile and pick up one you aren't afraid to beat. I purposefully got a chopweiler that was stripped and patinaed so I wouldn't be afraid to beat that rat for all its worth. Still, the first whack was the hardest. I'm more and more of the mind that if I won't use it, I shouldn't have it.
