Thank you Gary for your post. It really touched me. Thank you for being honest and specific.

I'm not much of a praying man so I lended Davids prayer and prayed with him.

That is excellent advice on not being intimidated by your doctor and I definitley appreciate the education Gary.

I have had skin cancer twice. I went through the surgical procedures recommended by my dermatologist. The first time I showed my primary care physician the "area of concern" on my arm, he said it was nothing. I believed him and let it go. I then saw a similar "area of concern" on my jaw while I was shaving. I ended up going directly to a dermatologist who recommended I have biopsies. What do you know, skin cancer. I went through the surgery and now get a checkup every 6 months with my dermatologist.

One simply must ask questions and voice your concerns to one's physician. A second opinion is a default response to any of my concerns now.

Prayers for you and your family arch. I have been putting off the tests as I am of the age 51. I think I will now put more of a priority on it.

Smoke and prayers sent to you and your family Gary.

My gf has been asking me to go for testing. I've been putting it off because I'm only 32 but I will get my arse in gear and get it done.

Gary, I lost my 24 year old cousin to insanely aggersive colon cancer two and a half years ago. She was as beatuiful youg lady who I always thought of as a little sister. I know with things seeming so bad right now that it can be overwhelming. We put up a Caringbridge page for Robyn so that her family only had to update one page and they just gave the address out to everyone as the whole family was consumed with her situation. I hope it helps but this site was a wonderful outlet for my family through a horrible situation and maybe it could help your family.

Here is Robyns page.

I can't do a lot to help you sir, other than saying a prayer for you and your family. But it seems with the support of your family and these wonderful folks on this board you are blessed with a support net of great people. Thanks so much for sharing your story with us as well as having the courage to step forward and talk about this horrible disease.

You have my families thoughts and prayers. -Jason
