We have a couple of metal bands for children. I´ve bought two cd´s for my kids from "Hevisaurus" (dinosaurs playing heavy metal) and they are good! I like listening to them.

Cool Ireash! Drummers rule! I saw DRI with Corrosion of Conformity and The Belching Penguins in Tampa. Met them also. they were great!

Nice set also. I have a smaller Ludwig set...I really want a new one.
I've never played any shows or anything but we had a band and we played all the time...Mostly Slayer, Savatage and Metallica...some others.

I used to see Savatage and Nasty Savage live all the time. They were good ole Tampa/Brandon bands.

Yes WE DO!!

I was lucky to grow up and play in the Metal scene when it was big. Metallica had just hit it big and the whole San Francisco metal scene was born. Those were the days!!!

I primarily listen to "metal" and "punk", but I enjoy any music that contains a solid bass player. I played bass (and drums when I was much younger) in some bands in the 90's in San Diego, so I am partial to that instrument.

I tend to listen to bands for individual musicianship versus the band overall. Some of my favoriate bands/musicians are:

Slayer - all time favorite band period.
Jimi Hendrix
Jaco Pastorius
Primus/Les Claypool
Misfits
Charles Mingus
TSOL
SRV
Minor Threat
The Doors
Led Zeppelin/John Paul Jones
Rage Against the Machine/Tim
Flea
Infectious Grooves/Robert Trujilo
Guns'n'Roses/Duff
Funkadelic/Bootsy Collins
Agent Orange
Sodom
Cliff Burton
Lou Reed
John Entwistle
Corrosion of Conformity
Lynard Skynard

I've slept since then so I don't remember.

RANDY!!!!!

You had me bust a gut on that one. Probably slipped past some Dogs who don't suffer from CRS but I sure do and I appreciate the honest comment.

Peace.

Sometimes when I use an elevator I hit all the buttons between my floor and the floor I am on just to hear the awesome tunes for longer.

Edited for better wit.

I was in a rental car a few weeks ago and it reminded me that I never got into a satellite player of any sort. I think those and mp3 players were just become super popular when I stopped buying a lot of cd's.

Wish I had gotten a satellite player back then. a friend had one and in the few hours I they played a wider range of songs than ive ever heard on regular radio. so much music to hear with one of those little boxes. but I did stumble across something that I will probably be using now. there's a couple apps for phones and computers that stream radio stations. one called slacker radio and the direct competition called (ah, forgot what it's called). guess it's as close to satellite as I'm going to get for now. if I get to where I can listen more regularly I could see having a regular subscription.

I am a big Jethro Tull fan, but really have very ecclectic taste in music.
Classic Rock, Folk, Jazz, Folk, etc. If it gets me emotionally, philosophically, or just gets my toe tapping, I'll listen to it.

Lazi- are you an audiophile? Are you familiar with high end audio gear or mainly studio gear only? Just curious... I like talking high end audio and music.

I have dabbled in the audiophile stuff but I'm mainly studio gear. it seems a good bit of what I know works in both worlds for the most part. or as i say jokingly, "i fake it and nobody has caught on yet.."

but if there are any type of audio related questions then I just go for answers. I can usually talk gear all day. so I had a handful of audiophile guys that would show up to pick my brains for a hour or two. they wanted to talk $100 per cable and I was talking "tear your walls out and put up resilient channel and double dry wall". ... but that's would I would do...

but compared to a few of my old customers that have a few thousands in just amps alone, I'm no where near an "audiophile". at least not where I want to be. I know a little about analyzing and treating rooms and a very little about the audiophile marketed gear. a lot of that stuff is heavily rebagged and hyped (imho) so I would probably lean more towards a recording studio style audiophile setup if I was to ever invest in a personal audiophile system. I would probably amp it all with a couple sweet old tube amps but I'd likely run studio monitors, players, and processors in the mix. plus I'm more of a clarity freak than a character freak I think. if I go audiophile my money would go towards a treated room and transparent system first.
