Here is an article I pulled up after I heard about it on national news. It ticks me off that this creep was released and allowed to do this again. What if it didnt turn out the way it did.

A Southwest Side man has been charged with attempting to abduct a 2-year-old boy Saturday morning at North Avenue beach.

Tyrone Hill, 37, of the 6400 block of South Maplewood Avenue, was charged with one count of attempted aggravated kidnapping of a child under the age of 13 and unlawful restraint, according to a statement from police News Affairs.

[color:"red"]Hill is accused of attempting to abduct a 2-year-old boy about 11 a.m. Saturday near a boathouse at North Avenue beach, police said.

The boy’s father told police he fought the alleged attempted abductor to get his child out of the other man’s arms.

“A 2-year-old child was out near the water, parents watching him as they should. A male subject came up to the child and started walking away with the child,” Chicago Police Cmdr. Leo Schmitz said.

The two men scuffled, and the father was able to get his child back. Hill allegedly fled on foot, but the father immediately gave the suspect’s description to a bike officer on the beach.

A “flash message” was sent to other officers, Schmitz said. The man was arrested about 150 yards from where the attempted abduction occurred.

Hill is expected to appear in bond court later Sunday.

[color:"red"]Hill was previously convicted of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child when he was 16. The victim was 7-years-old at the time, according to information from the Illinois State Police.

Ok, so here is some other info. The bad guy was behind the boat house and grabbed the child and attempted to run away with him. The father had to run after him and then fight with the bad guy.

Now I know that you parents dont let your kids wander off far from you, especially at that age,
but jeez what audacity. At 11 am in a crowded place.

I didnt post this for people to brag about there martial arts prowlness, but as a reminder to us that our physical conditon means more than our health.

I know I need to run more and build up my cardio. Having all the knives and guns in the world wont help you chase down some jerk who just grabbed your kid.

This is just something I heard about and thought I would post it. If for no one elses benefit than my own.

Take care of yourselfs and your families.

p.s. I toned down my language on this due to the family atmosphere but I am hot over this.

Before 9-11 I needed to lose about 40lbs. After all the events I thought "What would I do, what COULD I do?!" Since then I've gotten into shape and study martial arts. I know I'm not Bruce Lee or a Navy Seal, but at least now I'm more useful in Society. I also got my CPR certification and am emergency prepared. If I can't help myself how could I help others?
Books I like:
Training for Warriors by Martin Rooney
Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe
Enter the Kettlebell by Pavel

There are many others, but these are the most useful to me

Castration comes to mind.
There has to be a way to make sure these low lifes don't repeate.
I don't have kids,so luckly I don't have to worry about something like an abduction.
I'm not in great shape, but I think adrenolin would kick in & give me the strength to catch the dirtbag.
I'm sure most parents would find the strength to save thier child from an abduction that happened right in front of them like that.
