dang, those are some awesome pictures. I would love to check this place out. The vastness looking out from those turrets reminds me when I was visiting my wife's home island and looking out on the pacific. Great pictures and love the size of those fish. Did you have a guide or just you and the dad?

Stunning pics!! My Wife & I visited Alaska a couple of years back for the crab fest in Kodiak. We saw the bunkers on Kodiak, very interesting!!

Wow, great pics! The bunkers remind me of the westcoast of Denmark. It's riddled with those. Only they very built by the Germans when Denmark was occupied from '40-'45. The landscape not so much... There it is mostly sanddunes.
Having only one pancake, leaves more room for bacon!

Most people dont know how involved Alaska was in WW2. Cool pics. It was from Alaska where the US got its first Jap Zero to disassemble. IIRC, the Japs held a couple islands too. I know that the suicide rate for soldiers was higher than battle deaths. The soldiers that went up there were stationed around the Golden Gate at San Fransisco Harbor.
