Clarification:
I stated in another thread that I wouldn't buy more than 1, 2 or 3 of any design unless it could supplant a design in my survival gear.
My wife's survival gear will be receiving the 511's. Whatever works Gary!!!

Sweet, order in! I can't wait to get this knife. I may have to go back for another as I have a feeling this will be a great all around camp knife.

I broke down and bought one too! My problem isn't a wife or girlfriend lol it's my Mom everytime I get home from work and tear open my box and pull out a chunk of steel I get "another one?!" I just have to act like I can't heat anymore. Disclaimer: ( I havnt broken the age of 20 so yes I live with my parents still ) Tell your mom that there are MUCH WORSE things for a 19 year old to spend his money on. Mention that you've found a "normal masculine hobby that is clean and traditional/old fashioned". If that doesn't work mention you could spend 8-12 hours a day online buying video games and pretending to kill people on them...or worse Excellent advice Gary! Next timehe mentions something I will show her this post!

Outside of "being a boy" and getting into occasional trouble - my hobby kept me from doing the really bad stuff most people were doing. I spent my time at gun shows, studying history/guns and "playing army". Now I'm a 37 year old licensed commercial architect that still has the same hobbies, and still avoids the standard crap most people participate in (because I have a great set of interests). Keep on this track and stay out of trouble...you'll go places.

Great advice and support... I must have been 18 or so, just before I joined the Military... At that point I was still spending most of my free time in the bush with my dog. I'd dissapear on a Friday after school and re-appear late Sunday afternoon... Of course it drove my Mom a little 'dilly', well there were no cell phones to 'report-in' at that time... It's interesting to note that most of the youngsters... (Nieces/Nephews/Children of friends, even the neighbours kids... )... Can't wait for me to get home for R&R, all they want to do is go camping, go fishing, go hiking or just take a walk down to the Mangroves/Swamp and spend a few hours trekking through the bush... Sharpening their 'Bush-Craft' skills, practising 'Fire-Making', generally just being outdoors.

Will the 6" Kydex sheath available at the store fit the SYKCO? There's also a standard 6" sheath, would that also fit?
I mean the blade is only 5.5"... I'm ordering it to be sent to South Africa and to find guys here to manufacture a sheath is almost impossible, unless I drive to the other side of the country...

ZX, I would think the 6 inch nylon sheath should work, but If you want a kydex one made, contact Rainwalker, Azwelke, mashed cat or David brown (buy brown sheaths) and work a deal with them to make you a sheath and ship them to you together. They all do most excellent work.
If you prefer leather, check out Rainwalker or Savage sheaths. Armorall leather also makes some nice leather as does Chuddy Bear.
There are others but these are the ones I remember just off the top of my head.

I really like the Kydex one in the store, the fact that it can be opened for cleaning is a bonus...
