I think it has a lighter feeling blade than the ratmandu but maybe that is because its not full tang. The handle is more scrapper 6 size and much preferrable to me over dumpzster mutt/yardkeeper size. I got a couple. Who knows how long it will be available? I think it is virtually impossible to lose money on a knife of this quality at this price if you don't like it.

I am on the fence as I have a S6 that I have yet to use and a DMDC that I have yet to use. Not sure, but to me the 511 is a RMD with a Res-C handle which is nice but I love the RMD with the slab micarta.

So here's the deal: I want one. BAD. This would be my first bussekin, but I am trying to hold out for the 911. Money is, of course, the issue. The main problem is that I've got a baby on the way. I already have a great camp knife that I love (Cold Steel SRK in Carbon V). Now I know you can't compare SYK with others but I'm just talking blade styles. I don't really want repeats and I REALLY want a chopper. Now if the 911 came out around xmas that would be ideal, but I want it NOW. *sigh* Maybe I should start playing the lotto.

ted, this is a great price on a great blade. The 911 will be nice too. If you don't have an RMD and/or don't want to pay secondary market prices, this looks like a great blade.
That said, the baby ought to come first <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
