I'm not sure what you are talking about on sharpening, I'll research it. I am a bit of a ham fisted sharpener.

As far as the handle shape, I worked a job for awhile where I worked 12 hour shifts cutting plastic in a factory. I have a lot of knives but the War Dog is probably one of the better handles for using a knife for real work.
