Well Saturday was opening day here in VA. and for me its like being a child waiting for Christmas day. The night before, I tossed and turned anticipating and anxious for the alarm clock to go off. When I finally fell asleep around 1:30AM I had only three hours before having to wake and head for the woods <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. The morning outing saw plenty of deer but nothing close enough or willing to play. That evening around 6:00 PM the deer started moving and the end result was two nice does spaced thirty plus minutes apart. I have decided to hangup my compound this season and go strictly traditional this year. After harvesting my two beasts, I put the WD to work. I need to put more of an edge on the WD but needless to say it has had plenty of use these last five weeks. With a sharper blade this will be a fantastic field knife for hunting.

Sweet pic. I have always wantedto bow hunt. I hear you do it once and you will never want to use A rifle again.

I'd like to get a bow and try it. I hunt in pretty thick cover, so I'm used to being up close and personal. Last years buck was a whopping 30 feet away when I pulled the trigger.

Congrats. Took a bow class earlier in the summer and loved it.

Wondered how the WD would do on game. I love that blade!!!

Nice venison sf. I've been thinking of going back to the old recurve also. I was thinking about getting a takedown so I could carry it in a BOB. My shoulder was bothering me last season so I hung up the compound for a X-bow, as they legalized them for all bowhunting here in MI.

I also figured I would be carrying my War Dog in the wood this year. Nice to know it's a good choice.
Last year I used my new HCLE and WD, (wiener dog) to process both my deer and they worked out very well from field dressing to skinning and boning out.

Wow it was 93 degrees here yesterday, Hard to think about deer hunting when it's that hot. Your season sure starts early. I see the deer still have some of their summer coat.

Love a nice recurve bow. Good shooting.

Great job. I hunt with a compound bow and can really understand the thrill and challenge that you had.
