Handgun? That's easy! The Ruger Blackhawk 44 Mag with the 10.5" barrel...or the Blackhawk 357 6.5"...or maybe the EAA Bounty Hunter 45 Colt with the 7.5" barrel...or maybe the Springfield 1911 for more concealability...but the Sig 226 might work too...
  Darn you Hooker!

I'm carrying a Remington 30.06, but I still carry my Glock 19 for any two-legged varmits I may run across.

I carry my HRLM on my belt and wardog in my pack. I know what this will start but I am surprised that no one is going to take their weiner dog hunting with them. I usually carry a Dog Father or SOD along with several others...it just makes me happy Dan Give me a second to come up with a response.

I'm not sure if anything I say on this one will be appropriate so I should just move my fingers away from the key board.

When real hunters go hunting they leave modern weapons behind and take their weiner dog and bow into the wilds.
This is my weiner dog and this is my bow, one is for fun and one is for hunting. Its lame, but I can't help myself .

Good one Sf, your probably right. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the best hunter but even when bowhunting I'll be wearing a handgun for the two legged varmints.

I'd like to take my Weiner dog hunting, but with those short legs, she can hardly keep up.

You guys are going into them thar deep woods with too little protection. I roll with the BCM, and a few extra 30-rounders. I never feel under-gunned
This year the Kuhkri will see some longer range work...but the BCM will still be laying next to me.
  God Bless Texas.

Ishi, with all the trouble y'all been having this year I sure hope he does. No kiddin brother. Too many families displaced from their homes. Two weeks ago (during the really bad week for fires), we had a fire catch about 2 blocks from our house in northern Austin. I just happened to be home (took a little vacation from work)....I had my guns, important docs, and a few clothes loaded in the truck within about 5 minutes ready to roll. Luckily, the great fire crews (they called about 5 trucks) got it out within an hour. I didn't sleep well that night....kept waking up looking for signs of a flare up.
