I'm not sure what "little grind lines" would have to do with it. No need to strip it, either. Stick a flat edge against it. it's either flat or it's not.

I wasn't speaking in reference to the grind angle. The originals had machining lines when stripped, and I was just stating that I could not see them through the camo coating...so not sure if it's identical or not to the originals.

Ok, no pics...camera is officially dead (battery issue).
Took it out for a fresh look in the sunlight as soon as I got home. Mine is a FULL HEIGHT FLAT GRIND, as advertised. I was incorrect earlier about my impressions from last night.
Now I really want to strip it and see if it's shiny underneath

I stripped my camo regulator which had roughly the same surface finish as the camo 511 (got mine last evening-you are correct FF grind!!). There are a lot of tool marks and it is far from satin finished, but cleaned up, it is kind of shiny. I was going to polish and cold blue it, but the more I look at it, the more that I like the rugged look of the raw steel. Bottom line, the finish covers a lot of imperfections and it could be rougher than you expect. It would, however, still be an extremely fine knife.

If you get a chance..would love to see pics of the Camo 511 stripped. I agree...keep it ugly. I love my strippers. I will say though, a cleanly ground surface is nice surprise at times.
