I really enjoyed shooting the .38 rounds, not a lot of recoil ( especially after the .357) put a bunch dead center at 25 yards ( hvent shot much so I was pretty pleased)

I had put a set of hogue rubber grips on the six before I took it, didn't care for them with the more powerful rounds, seemed almost to slim in my hand

nice! I spent some time over the weekend looking at various .357 revolvers online. it's just a style of of gun I have wanted since I can remember. I was thinking 686 but really chances are I'd couple different ones if the funds ever were there.

686's are nice. But I am a Ruger man for my revelovers. I only own 2. An SP101 in 357 and a Redhawk in 44 mag.

I don't think I have seen a .357 revolver I didnt like yet but it's just so many smith to choose from it would be had not to end up with on. if I was able to get a second one it would proababky be something out of the ordinary. a company named Chiappa makes one called a rhino thats suppose to cut way back on recoil. there's also a fairly cheap one that FNH put their name on back in the 90's (I think).

I have a soft spot for revolvers. The first formal training I ever had was with a revolver. It was the first time I had ever messed with them. I have loved them ever since.

But I carry a pistol.

I feel like I need a shotgun now, that's probably the next gun purchase

My first firearm was a Ruger old model blackhawk 357 it was pretty nice but I have always been drawn to the semi-autos and that is what is the make up of most of what I have, except for a ruger vaquero 45lc.

I've been thinking the same thing, I haven't had one in the house for over 15 years.

LOL, shot guns are mandatory. I got my first one when I was 8 and have had at least one ever since.

I wouldn't go that far <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Maybe if you lived in Illinois and couldn't hunt with a rifle...maybe. The problem with shotguns is "most" people have a difficult time controlling them...and recoil is such that folks don't train with them. They're only fun when shooting ducks / dove / clays (flying moving things). I'd get a shotgun for sport...nothing more. The Benelli Nova is a fantastic bird slayer....I forget the name of its semi brother.

You've got your AR, right? Get a second, for the wife, friends, spare parts, shtf, etc. Spend more money on ammo than you did on the guns...practice. When you get bored and your money is itching the pocket...start delving into NFA crap.

Have you ever tried long range shooting? That gets fun too. Reloading...adds an entirely new dynamic to the sport.
