I used to like riding bikes, but I wouldn't ride anything like that. I had a nice mountain bike that never saw more dirt than my driveway.

I really got into it in Japan. First bike I had over there I literally wore out in 6 months. Guess $125.00 don't get you as good a transportation as you would think.
My next Bike was a custom built 21 speed mountain bike I pain $1200.00 for. I still have it but don't ride anymore.
My last one was one of those Pro type bikes. I got it used for $700.00 and it used those skinny tires that glued onto a u shaped rim. It was a harsh ride with those skinny tires aired up to about 90 pounds!
The Mountain bike was my daily transportation and the other was my "Fun bike". Nothing like wiping out at 30 mph on ROUGH asphalt!

My sister and her husband ride those road bikes on the weekends. They'll do 40-50 miles a day, and sometimes more. Not me, at least not without an engine!

I wanted to do a century (100 miles at one time), but the closest we ever got was about 55 miles. Took us just bout 3 hours. We weren't racing. The one race I was in took me 1hour 1 minute and 1 second to ride about right at 24 miles.
