Probably having barbecue for lunch. Our old church is having a benefit barbecue today. And I love me some barbecue!

I read that too and your right about him not lasting, we were talking about that samething at work the other day where people wait so long to retire that they seldom live to enjoy retirement.

I was supposed to go to a bonfire tonight at a friends house. May still go, not sure yet.

Funny how that happens, isn't it. I'd like to enjoy my retirement. If I ever make it.

Your killing me here man, I love bbq but there isn't a authentic place closer than 1 hour, there is a Damon's plus a place called DJ's that most people swear by but I've never been a big fan. I do a smoked pulled pork but that takes time and prep and if I go to the place we love called Hog Father's without my wife I'm dead.

LOL. Barbecue is one of our major food groups here. There is a church or group barbecue every weekend, it seems.

I can retire with 30 years in 5 years if they don't change the rules and I'll be 51, I figure I can work part time plus still enjoy retirement.

I could have retired at 48 if I'd have stayed with the state. But I didn't, so I'll probably work till I kick off.

A few years ago we went down to Hickory NC and then over to Highpoint to look at furniture and we made a weekend out of it. In Hickory we had some good bbq but I can't remember the name.

Hickory is about 20 minutes away. There is a barbecue place called Shells Barbecue that is pretty good. Bennetts BBQ was my favorite, but they closed.
