wasn't really happy with my m1a. still haven't shot it. turns out that some of them had a problem that causes the magazine to fit super tight. I called Springfield and they will cover shipping and fix it. they said it's just a matter of removing some material from the stock. I actually attached the trigger group to the action without the stock and placed an empty mag in just to see what was going on. it's seems like there is something else causing the problem.
not downing springfield but I was bummed i dropped that much cash and had issues right out the box. I got busy and kinda lost interest in the rifle because of the problem. will send it off at some point and hopefully be happy with it. at least that's the plan.

For some reason do the M1A just seems more refined and classy than an AR platform. I'm not sure why I think that because the AR platforms are great guns if there properly built.

I love the look of a nice wood stock, which is why the M1A also appeals to my senses. I love shooting the AR platform, but they lack personality.

was about to find a wood stock for my m1a until I put it together without the stock. when realized this might not fix the problem I decided I would send it back first. but the scout rifles do look really good with wood. I just like the color green a little more.

I came close to buying a FAL clone once upon a time, but it was sitting beside an M1A and I decided to wait for the M1A. Stuff happens.

I like how it comes with the monolithic rails you have to add rails to a m1a
