decided that if I'm going to stretch out a shot I will have a bolt rifle. but it's nice to know you have a go to rifle that can get of there if you want it to. with .308 you can just about have it all but the price tag just gets a steep.

The RFB is listed as having a 1,000 meter effective range, so it'll do what your asking of a rifle at a little more than a third of the price. Plus it is short for the shtf situation. Long guns suck in a city environment.

My office is a bunch of gun nuts and I spend most lunch breaks at the local range. I have heard nothing but great things about the RFB. I know I am being repetitive, but I think $3,000 is ridiculous for a rifle, when there are just as capable and reliable alternatives out there for cheaper.
And I love bullpup designs.

GD, It's your money and will be your rifle. Bit I'll have to side with JJ on this one. You could use the money saved for more ammo or other items you are looking at. Bottom line though, of course, is it IS your money to buy what YOU want to buy. We're just trying to save you some bucks.

have seen good things about the rfb from my reading. GD you mentioned barrel swaps and I remember the RFB had some like a 30" barrel. and KelTec is usually pretty reasonable with prices. the longer barrel might get you some range.

Thanks skunk and it will be a while before I have the money saved and the decision is made. I want to be able to put in small mags to be legal to hunt in some states

You're welcome GD. You could probably get short mags for the Kel tec but if not I am sure some kind of a block (wood or plastic) could be made and inserted into the magazine to block it off to only 3-5 rounds.
