Sunny here right now, but couple days of hard rain coming. Figures it would be on my two days off, and in the middle of deer season no less.

Deer season started last Monday here, the schools here in my area of WV closed for the week because of it.

The rain is one of the best times to hunt here. everything gets moving during the day. Throw on some raingear and have at it.

I promised my father in law that I'd get him a mess of squirrels, but it'll probably be after deer season before I get that done.

I'd bet you that opening morning of deer season that I saw 50 squirrels from my deer stand. Couldn't hear the deer for the dang tree rats!

It wasn't that bad for me but bad enough. I want to go to the ridges where i like to sit and wait and take out everyone of them that I see. That should leave a more managable population next fall.

I had a squirrel jump off a limb onto my rifle at one point. Not sure who it scared the most, me or him.
