I never liked crotch rockets. I still have a 1979 honda 650 hurricane I picked up 4 years ago. Haven't ridden it in almost 3 years, it is just too small. I really need to sell it I had a 88 Honda 1000 Hurricane. It would flat out fly, but it's slow compared to the newer bikes.

Probably comparable in a straight line to the old V65

I'd love to have a Magna V65. I looked at a 98 model 750 Magna last week. Money is right, miles are right, but I'm kind of set on the Harley.

My youngest brother has a few buddies that ride crotch rockets. It is unbelievable how fast they are

Most I ever got scared was on a GSXR 750. Closest I ever came to wrecking, and it's the bike that got me off the crotch rockets altogether.

If you settle for something else you will probably regret it. I had a bonieville 750 (first street bike, first accident) and a shovelhead (worse piece o crap ever). However I will say all of the heritage classics I've road were very nice and my buddies fat bob (ugliest 3k paint job in creation)rides excellent

I'm gonna have a bike in the next year or so, and hopefully in the next couple months. But if it comes out to me buying a used $4k bike and paying cash for it, then so be it. At least I'll be back on two wheels again.
