Have had a 3" and 3.5" 1911 and neither would run 100% even after tuning by renown smiths. Am a firm believer in 4" or better on the 1911. I agree completely but have never had anything smaller than my kimber pro cdp. I was at Novak's 45 shop once and he was explaining to me once you shorten the barrel under 4" it tends to start causing problems, I figured he would know.

No they are a grip maker, you should check them out as they are in a word SWEET. He has a set for the sig 226 and said he should have a set for the 228 shortly, I email him often nagging about them.

I like that Kim Pro with the rounded butt. Mostly carry a HK45C these days.

I love it and hopefully can get out this weekend. I am headed back to Cabela's Saturday for the doorbuster sale to get that sig 22 but I have to call them to make sure they have more than 2 for the sale. Been eyeballing that SIG 22, but think I want the Ruger 45/22 with threaded barrel, so I can get my first can. The rugers are super pistols and I always wanted one after seeing the movie Assassins starring Stallone. I read somewhere that they were one of the most surpressed weapons around. My edc is a Glock 19. I sold a nice Sig P229 in .40 cal a while back. Nice gun, but too fat in the grip for my hands.

I like that Kim Pro with the rounded butt. Mostly carry a HK45C these days. The Super Carry Pro is nice with the bobtail feature, I think they were smart to come out with that model. I carry a sig 228 but sometime switch out to my kimber pro cdp and even a ppk/s.

I love Sigs, but I had one of the early Mosquitos, and it was a real dog. I sure hope they've improved them. Wouldn't feed and wasn't accurate when it did feed.
