So, I decided to research kevlar and found Nova episode on Hulu that is about "making stuff stronger." They have put spider DNA in goats to make them produce spider silk proteins. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> OK, what good will that do?

Wait a minute, you're saying that the goats give milk that solidifies into a thread? I think I'm confused here.

Wait a minute, you're saying that the goats give milk that solidifies into a thread? I think I'm confused here. They have to extract the proteins from the milk and then make thread. I just watched them test it and it was stronger than everything but natural spider silk.

I saw or read somewhere once about a fungus or something attacking the brain of ants. Is that what you're talking about JJ?

They have gotten the goat milk up to 2 percent spider proteins. In a few more generations they are hoping for 10 percent. Much easier than harvesting it from spiders.
