That'll change soon enough. I bought 10 in six months after getting my first. That's a lot for me, I usually only buy 2-3 a year.

I had to learn what patience was after working for Dan Busse (ha!) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Just kidding Dan!

The knives are worth the wait! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I am sure they are, I can tell just by the following yall have here. There are just SOOOOO many knives, some of the sickest most survival engineered blades I have ever seen. Now I respect the fact that the knife I am about to mention is not a scrap yard knife but there is something about the old school SR Ratweiler with the finger groove (2004) in the micarta handle that I can't stop drooling over. I saw a video on it and looked at a bunch of pics and its just str8 up ridiculous, I could process ALL the devils firewood with that knife and keep hell hot. I can't wait to see a company picture of the Scrap Yard 711 and 911 because I have a real good feeling either one of those are going to be my go to knife when im going to the woods.

You're more patient then I. Ever since I bought my first Busse off the exchange 6-7 months ago (can't really remember now,) I've bought one or two Busse, Scrap Yard, or Swamp Rat knife. Needless to say, I've slowed down a bit Over the last few weeks. There's only so many knives one uses. I became a small-time collector, which is not what I set out to be.

I am very excited about some of the new releases though, and in some cases wish that I had forgone a sale on the exchange and waited for new releases, but it's not that big of a deal. I've sold a few of the blades that I got off the exchange and have usually come out losing $10 for shipping, but it all evens out because I did make some money on one blade and one trade.

As they say, "No Regrets!"

OK, here it is in MY UNPROVEN list (I am not a bushcrafter and just use my knives around the yard and while cruising The Wildlife refuge if a limb or something needs to be cleared off the road.

DEDICATED chopper = Dogfather

GREAT all around = SOD

GREAT "Bush crafter" = Wardog or the S5

Personal blade = Swamp Warden or scrapivore (also includes the Cupidvore)
You could also add the Mud Puppy (Muppy) here just as easily!

With at least four of these blades you could rebuild civilization!

AND DON'T FORGET A SHARPENER!!!

I'll follow in Skunk's footprints here for the fun of it.

Great Chopper: DOG FATHER!!
Get friendly with some dogs and Hogs and get a proxy or go to a show yourself and pray that they have one. I was lucky enough to score a DF from a great guy who was my proxy for the AK trough show. I've owned Battle Mistresses, still own an NMSFNO & Rodent 9 and have 2 Basic-10s on order, and I still think that the Dog Father will forever be my go-to big blade.

In the mid-range: I only really have Busse blades in the 5-7" range, but the 5-11 has proven itself to be a real winner as a camp knife.

Great Bushcrafter/General Purpose/Skinning: SCRAP MUK!! I had to pay $70 more than the original price to get one off the exchange, but it is just perfect. I sold my Hog Muk when I got it.

Also, the Rodent Solution with a proper edge is fantastic!!! Lately I've been hoping that one of the super hogs that have 20 of each blade released by Busse would be kind enough to sell me a BAD at price, but I don't think that's going to happen. I think instead, I'm just going to strip the Rodent Solution and heavily reprofile the edge to make it a super slicer.

The suspense is killing me, I received my first SYK today and I REALLY like it. I managed to sell my "other" 2 knives for an extra $200 and have a couple of other random archery items for sale in which I plan on putting my $$$ torwards a new blade. I am trying so hard to hold out for that 711 or 911 but the more I look and learn the more I see. I am seeing the coolest knives from the ENTIRE Busse family and I'm dyin here. Im checkin the bladeforum classifieds every 2 minutes like I check the fridge for something new to just magically appear. One of yall are gonna have to club me, drug me or just plain put me out because if the 711 or 911 don't come out soon I wont have any fingernails left HAHAHAHA All kidding aside Im goin nuts. Ill tell ya being on paternity leave is NOT helping my situation at all. Someone help me, talk me through the agony have having to wait.

NICE....44 posts in and the man shares our addiction!!!!

I just want 3 knives no more no less, useful and purposeful knives that way I will never feel under-bladed. So far my scrapivore sucks as a firesteel striker but I am working on that, I might send it off to have serrations cut into it or have a false edge profiled on the rear of the blade specifically for the firesteel. Next a medium knife, a 511 maybe a Dumpster Mutt (1/4" spine I LIKE THAT) for medium out in the woods for a day kinda knife and a 711 or 911 for hey im going camping for a week and I need to baton through 6" logs. I WISH I had the $$$ to buy all the cool stuff, so I spend $$$ when I can on stuff that I really like. BUT YES I am an addict
