Colours man...colours (yes...that IS the correct spelling <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ).... I NEED this in black AND tan or a combination..... black blade tan handle... or like the various 511 colours (again...for you foreigners <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> )we have seen.... black is nice but out here the tan combinations are a winner...!!!! I have a tan SOD sitting with a tan 511, TT Regulator, a tan RS and tan HRLM all waiting in Florida to ship here (as soon as I know if I have scored my "tan" ASH1 or not <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> ) ...you could say I like Tan..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

Excellent question(s). If she is differentially treated, it may be necessary to buy quite a few!

I would not expect to see color options in the initial offering. Maybe we will see variations through show specials and Ganzas.
And would bet that all the Basic 11 line will be through hardened. Helps keep the excellent "Price to Performance Ratio". This is not an issue when you have high quality design and material, good heat treat, and an unbeatable warranty that is unlikely ever to be needed.

If we dont get handle color options, I may have to send in my SOD and get the handle switched with the 711 handle so I have a tan/black and black/tan combo instead of tan/tan and black/black...

Colors or not this will definitely be a great buy. I mean this will be the jack of all trade kinda knife like the CT.

I find myself checking out this site every few hours... should I order 2 or 3? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Almost the same size and price as the Regulator. I'll be looking forward to comparison tests. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm pretty excited by this release as well! All the Swamp and Yard 11 series look Great, but the Dan's 7-11 and The Swamps Rodent 3 are my Top two pics!

I'm checking the site alot! I'm looking to buy three. One for my home BOB, one for my car Bob and one dedicated user.

Also T1mpani explained the Heat Treats on the Swamp web site and I don't mind if its through hardened, I don't plan on breaking bricks with it...

At that price I would think it's through-hardened. Deep down I'm hoping that it is diff-hardened; but in any case most of us would not notice a difference between the two.

For my needs - I want differential heat treat in my choppers, but I don't consider a 7" a chopper. I think of it as a "general purpose" or "jack of all trades / master of none"...a knife you carry when you don't know what you need a knife for.

As such I would much prefer dif. heat treat, but as others have stated its not as critical with Busse steel and geometry.

The Swamp's Rodent 9, on the other hand, needed to be dif. heat treated.

I aso noticed its close to the regulator.

I wish I could hold one in each hand and compare them.
