I know what you mean; I traded off a 1st Generation Howling Rat. Of course, I got a CampTramp for it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />...... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That was the weirdest transaction -- you mentioned that it was for sale to lots of people and nobody was interested until I said I'd buy it, then I hear, "I'd have paid more than that for it." It just illustrates the contrary nature of folks -- they don't care about stuff when it's available, but as soon as it's not...

A couple questions and a note; first, what happened to your intel440 account? Second, I'm pretty sure I remember where that is -- green linen, I seem to recall convexed, and with kydex, right? I haven't cut a thing with it since it followed me home and I'm pretty reasonable if you need it back. However, that's not an invitation for others to PM me about it -- it's not up for public sale.

Edit: I checked, and that Vex isn't where I thought -- in the corner of a bookcase shelf where I put watch, rings, and empty my pockets when I get home. However, I began consolidating several smaller boxes of Bussekins into bins that fit into a locking cabinet a while back -- I probably put it in there (with most of my other 3 to 5 inch blades, including my other Vexes). I don't want to unpack them right now, but I still have it and am confident that I can locate it if necessary.

Jim - agreed.

I have passed on guns, knives, gear when it was readily available just to find myself a few years later longing for one.

None, although I'm sort of a "black hole" for knives; I rarely let anything go, and only then if I have at least three more of the same model in reserve.

I do have regrets about knives that I didn't buy though. I was really on the fence about a couple of the Swamp Rats from last night's 'ganza. The hollow ground Rodent Solution was calling, but I kept reminding myself of two arguments:
1) The Swamp Rat store has CG Rodent Solutions for $108.95, so that satin/hollow ground option nearly doubled the price.
2) I already own several Mud Puppies, which I think fill the same niche, so it's hard to justify buying hg RSs.
I know that those arguments are just as true this morning as they were yesterday, but another piece of my mind is telling me I should have gone for it.

Similarly, there was a shiny version of the paratchute mandu, but I already have a couple of the originals, so why spend $198.95 each for something that is the same as what I already have, just prettier? The answer to that is because I'm going to feel like I should have when people start posting pictures of theirs.

I had serious buyer's regret over the Hammered Wardens from the '09 VetDayGanza. I ended up buying one through the BladeForums Exchange -- I liked it well enough that I still wish I'd gotten a few at retail. Oh well, you can only store so much, and if it doesn't spoil and you already have enough, then it's silly to keep buying more -- that doesn't keep me from wanting to though.

"a black hole"...that's classic! If you ever decide to open the vault...the infi and sr101 will flow like a river! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I wish I hadn't parted with my SOD. Fortunately, the 711 is pretty close to it, so I'm not too "remorseful" anymore!

I wish I would have held onto a few SRKW blades I parted with. For the most part if they went to a good home I could care less. At certain less financially stable times I did what I had to do though. No regrets.

never sold anything, but I do regret not getting a SOD or Regulator, but the 711 should fix that.
