Pictured doing something like this last night, today I put my thoughts into action I then put my action into process and this is what I came up with . I have some good ideas for my next project. As always all positive, negative and constructive criticism are welcome.

Nice combo you have there. If that is a belt clip, it won't offer any retension. Make a full belt loop and match the width to the sheath. I like the Spyderco brand of belt clips allso, but a little steep at about 7.95 ea. Cheaper to make one.

Thank you, I made the clip out of a scrap piece of Kydex I had just to see if it would look right. It is fairly tight on my belt as the 2 studs are in the airspace between the fold of the loop so that adds a fair amount of pressure to the belt itself. I am definitely going to make a much better loop though as soon as a piece of Kydex comes open.

I am with Hooker on this one though and see you plan to address the issue in your previous post. I think there is a way to turn the belt clip into a loop with minor work.

I can't tell for certain, but it looks like the top two Chicago screws are holding a piece of folded kydex to the back of the sheath. If this is the case, put your belt or a similar sized piece of wood where the belt goes and heat and press the kydex around it. Then drill two more holes in the back piece of the folded kydex clip where the Chicago screws are. Now you have a completed circuit and the sheath won't be able to come off without taking the belt off or taking the screws out.

Looks like you're off to a running start in the kydex bending game. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Jarhead for your reply and this is exactly what I was planning to do, I just did not want to cut a brand new piece of kydex if I did not have to. The 1 piece I had was only about 4" long and I wanted to get a quick feel for if I could actually make a belt loop which has become apparent that I can, I just need a longer piece of kydex next time. If I make another 1 of these to sell i will definitely make it with the updated more secure belt loop. I REEEEALY like this piece and am quite happy it came out as well as it did.

You could attach a holster clip to the sheath; that would provide good retention and cost about a dollar each. I also use a back-to-back holster clip on some of my dangler-type sheaths; makes for a fast clip on or off the belt. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I might actually do a similar setup as a piggyback for the Ratmandu sheaths I have been making however I think this type of setup would be especially awesome with a Swamp Rat rodent solution. Another member here told me he would lend me any of his knives I would like to make a sheath for and he has a RS. I might do a killer sheath and piggyback setup for that after I get done with the one guys Boss jack sheath. I have some sicly sweet ideas runnin around my head.

Ok I believe this is much better than my previous belt attachment. I have not sanded it and will have to get some new chicago screws for it and its definitely more solid than the previous clip. Let me know what yall think.
