Having a son is an eye opening experience. I've paid for everything that I ever did to my parents, and then some. But it's been a wild ride. He's 17 now, and on his last few years of high school. Then he's planning on joining the Air Force.

Just enjoy the first couple years, cause after that they FLY by!

It does fly by. I seems like my kid was just born.

It seems like last year or so that my first was born. She's 19 and in college now.

Jeeez...I keep hearing the first years fly by. Now I'm worried!

First couple years weren't too bad. But especially after they start school....look out!

They do fly by. Even though there are nights that seem to drag on forever.

The one thing that has amazed me thus far in the early stages of the journey, was the lack of "care". I say that in quotes, because we have been through a lot to get here...to the point where we thought we couldn't have kids. My wife had to have a pretty severe surgery just to enable her. Her sister has had two already, working on the third, and they don't seem to understand what my wife has been through to get here....it's as if they lack any empathy for how great of a gift this is for us.

Oh well..they are the inlaws...f'em.

Once they hit school it does go faster.
