When I was a kid I was pretty much the mascot for my Dads team in 5th group. They let me do all kinds of stuff. They had one of the static line simulators and they let me play on it. The next week I jumped off the roof using a garbage bag as a parachute. I took me three tries before I got caught. I kept going back into the house getting larger sheets after my first try. I was trying to perfect the canopy. Its a good thing I had a decent PLF for a 6 year old. Dad got suspicious when I asked for one of his parachutes.

I trained with 10th a few times, it was the only way they'd give me access for a story. They wore me out. Afterward was one of the few times I was glad to back in my office sitting at a desk resting my bones.

I know a more than a few of the 10th group guys. I did some advising and they used to come to the shop to B.S. with Dad when he still had the leather shop.
