Jared, considering where you live, and your newfound love for guns, get you a couple. one rifle and one revolver, 357 mag. For your area, that round will handle anything you will come up against. Yes, the 30-30 is a good weapon, I have had one for the last going on 40 years. BUT would YOU need the added range this round would give, and would it really give you an extended range?

I doubt I "need" it, I do have a Ruger security six in 357/38 special with the 6 inch barrel. I love the look of the lever actions and they look like fun to shoot also. I have a good AR, just been browsing the 30-30 lately

TIMO! Hows the land of the Sauna? Christmas wasn't bad, got to be with and watch the Grandbaby tear into her presents. Christmas was nice but the weather is strange. We had two strong storm here. Lots of trees fell down and cutted off the electricity in many places. Talking about cutting; I bought a tenderloin and now it's time to cut it into about 2" thick pieces and then on the frying pan they go!
