I didn't even know the name of the place until I got there and saw some signs. Funny thing - when I got off the interstate, there were signs pointing in the opposite direction saying "recreational areas this way." I went that way the next day, and it was nowhere near as pretty as Dixie Forest, but had more amenities, all it took was anything to have more though. Dixie just had a sign that said "camping closed for the winter." <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

There was a Smokey the Bear image saying something about me being the one who can stop fires and a sign telling me I can't sleep there right after I passed a sign saying "public lands."
If it is public, shouldn't they have asked me when I can and can't sleep there.

This place is desolate. I am certain the brass/minds behind choosing this place had this conversation:
"Where is the most uninhabitable,harshest terrain and boring place in the continental United States?" Brass number 1

That sounds like "Military Intelligence" alright! Man talk about a contradictory terms! Military and Intelligence just don't seem meant for each other. (the "Brass" that is)
